about

The penultimate "Tales" album features more groove from the land of the Tube Room. An edited version of "A Distant Star" was released on April 16, 2021 as a single on Tube Room Records. This album includes the complete, unedited version of the song. The album features two songs (i.e. "River Bed" and "Chamber of Dread") with vocals and the lyrics are provided below.

"RIVER BED" (Words & Music by Carl Baugher)

Well, I woke up early one mornin’,
Stumbled outta my nice warm bed.
Yes, I woke up early one morning’,
Stumbled outta by nice warm bed.
Before the sun came up,
I went runnin’ down to that river bed.

Had a pain between my eyes,
Made me sore and hurt my head.
Oh, that pain between by eyes,
Made me sore and hurt my head.
Only thing I can say,
I shoulda stayed at home instead.

Ain’t no cure for an old fool,
I been cut and I been bled.
Naw, there ain’t no cure for an old fool,
I been cut and I been bled.
One thing I know for sure,
Don’t go near that river bed.

“CHAMBER OF DREAD” (Words & Music by Carl Baugher)

It’s midnight, the fear grips your throat with icy fingers,
Struggling to breathe—choking,
The Dread Rises
The Dread Rises

You’re walking, it’s night, you’re alone,
The rain drizzles down, the streets are deserted,
Or they seem to be, but something’s out there,
You can feel it, something’s behind you,
You’re tense—the fear,
The Dread Rises
The Dread Rises

You’re all alone, the room is empty,
You feel the vibration of nothingness,
The silence is deafening,
You look for help—there is no help,
The Dread Rises
The Dread Rises

You try to sleep, you try to rest,
You lay back, your head rolls from side to side,
The sweat covers your face, drips into your eyes,
You feel a clenching in your chest,
The Dread Rises,
The Dread Rises,
The Dread Rises,
The Dread Rises,
The Dread Rises.
