This album was compiled from analog reels of 1/4" tape originally recorded in 1977. The reels were stored haphazardly for a number of years and suffered for it. As a result, there are brief moments of distortion that could not be excised without destroying the overall frequency response of the recording, e.g. "Permanent Solution." The decision was therefore made to leave the distortion alone. This aesthetic decision, of course, makes it a "warts and all" album but I believe the musical interest makes it worth overlooking the brief sonic deficiencies.

I originally remastered these tracks in 2016 but did not release it at the time. I eventually remastered it in 2022 for this release. The choice to not release the album in 2016 was mainly due to reservations about the technical deficiencies as well as some the unpolished technique on display but I believe the ideas expressed outweigh the technical shortcomings. Ultimately, I decided that these recordings are valuable and deserve to be heard.

I dedicate this album with love to the memories of my brothers Bob and Steve. Their spirits come back to life every time I hear them play on these recordings.--Carl Baugher
